I've been playing around with this. I was focusing on the back of the ball and never really felt as though I was hitting through the ball at impact. I was realizing that my strike swing was different than my practice swing. So, in an effort to try and sort this out, I started focusing on a spot about 2 inches in front of the ball. I had great success with this in that, I FINALLY felt what it is like to swing through the ball! So I kept it up for quite some time and gradually, I've been able to take the "gravity" of the ball and reduce it considerably where, I no longer feel I'm hitting at the ball but, I'm not really focusing on anything that directly, I just kind of look around the ball vicinity.
I have also to say, I believe focusing on that spot in front of the ball created a different issue. I started to stack everything forward and was no longer stacked properly and I even started tilting too much toward the target at set up. It took a V1 analysis for me to realize what I was doing. After that, I'm stacking better, striking better and the the gravity of hitting the ball is under better control. So, although, my tactic caused an issue, it took care of a different one. I feel it was worth it because to fix the over correction caused by my impact focus was pretty simple to sort out...I think!
I haven't really had a round of golf since all this. Today might change that as I have a tee time. I'm hopeful!
Hi Russ - I recently answered a similar question from another member. There's no real kernel of wisdom to it, but I'd be giving you pretty much the same reply. HERE is that thread.
Thanks my man. I appreciate your time and response.

I hope this helps in some way...
