Doubt anyone might remember that product or if is still around! But after missing missing a week last week due to conditions and not having a pull cart and a cart bag to big to carry at this season of my career.
Got out yesterday and felt like a novice at times. Was definitely some rust from being off for 2 weeks and not getting to hit at "garange" at all. Been a little hectic in other areas.
Even though not the most consistent round playing on a course I think played twice last year. Still had some good takeaways. ( as self evaluation is key for me).
1: Even though this sounds like negative, I broke my own rule and tried adding another layer to my swing without totally having prior layer ingrained. I been concentrating on the "string, shallow path" and attempted to add the focusing on the elbow tucked in on top of that. Not that I fly it out all that much. But definitely was not smart and caused more problems than solved.
(I know myself and I have to build layer upon layer)
2: Have to hang in there with the new Cleveland wedges.(54 & 58) They seem when 50 yards in pitch mode to not fly as high as my old wedges but check up nicely. Even my regular playing partners noticed it and commented that at first they thought would be to hot or long but balls has the spin and stops nicely. Just have to dial in the distance a little better since ball doesn't roll out nearly like it use to.
So rust aside and going to stick with the takeaway and making sure swing is shallow and not over the top coming down ( which as@Tom Saguto knows from a video lesson did last year is a big issue because of junkyard in right shoulder). And that "string" lesson he shared a little bit ago is doing wonders, for real and felt perception.
Am looking forward to league today. Told myself to chill a bit yesterday as it is only beginning of May and to relax and focus. plenty of golf left. After getting up this morning (my morning when everyone is going to sleep), feeling good and body responding well. When schedule permits going to play twice a week on back to back days to get endurance built up and even throw a 3rd 9 hole day in as the season progresses on the day I return to work.
One issue I have to settle with league (will find out today). But new 18 hole league on top of 9 league, something is amiss. Last week missed but shown on board as 1st flight in 9 hole league and 2nd flight in 18 league. And checking today on Golf Genius same thing seems to be setup. Can't be right because 1st flight plays Blue/White and 2nd straight Whites. That doesn't work and gives a advantage to guys in the first half of 18 hole league playing the first 9.
Just figured I'd keep you all bored with my in house Saguto Academy log or is it a blog? 🤔😊
Blessings All!
Your post had me chuckling and nodding along. It sounds like you had quite the adventure on the course, rust and all. Don't worry, we've all been there!
I admire your dedication to improving your swing, even if adding that extra layer turned out to be a bit of a wild ride. Remember, Rome wasn't built in a day, and neither is the perfect golf swing. Building layer upon layer is the way to go, even if it means some unexpected twists and turns along the way.
Ah, the new Cleveland wedges! It's always exciting to try out new equipment. It's great to hear that they're giving your shots some extra spin and stopping power. Just like any relationship, it takes time to dial in the perfect distance. But once you do, those wedges will be your trusty companions for sure.
And kudos to you for keeping a level head and focusing on your takeaway and swing. We all have our golf demons, and that junkyard in your right shoulder can be a real challenge. But with Tom's guidance and that "string" lesson, it seems like you're making real progress. Keep at it, my friend!
Now, about that league confusion... Well, it sounds like a bit of a head-scratcher. Let's hope it gets sorted out soon so that everyone has a fair playing field. After all, golf is a game of integrity and fair play.
Thanks for sharing your in-house Saguto Academy log/blog with us! It's always a joy to hear about fellow golfers' adventures and triumphs. May your future rounds be filled with laughter, good shots, and a whole lot of fun. Wishing you many birdies and blessings on the course!
