Hey everyone. I am fairly new to golf. I started trying to play starting the summer of last year when I installed a golf simulator for one of my old bosses. He gave me a couple of lessons and some used clubs and I have been learning the game and trying to get better ever since. I have really enjoyed learning from watching a bunch of different YT channels, but I am huge fan of Tom's and Sam Goulden's videos, so I have been focusing on Tom's method and Square To Square method. I feel comfortable with hitting my wedges and short irons straight, but I am not comfortable with long irons, hybrids, or the driver at all.
I finally decided it was time to try out Saguto Golf school on Friday, and I already feel like I got my money's worth. The Simplest Golf Swing Ever course has given me an amazing EUREKA moment! When Tom said to let the lead arm just go for the ride and all of the power comes from the trail arm, I have almost completely stopped hitting the ball fat and I can now finally feel what compressing the golf ball feels like. I was using a 7 iron to hit some balls into a net in the backyard, and I feel like I was hitting the balls with so much power I cracked the covers on 2 of my golf balls!
I am looking forward to spending more time on the Simplest Golf Swing Ever and seeing if I can incorporate the same feelings I have now with my longer clubs.
Thanks for the videos Tom and keep up the good work!
Update: For lunch today I took my 9 iron to the range to see how far the ball goes doing only the load and explode drill w/ lead arm and almost no downswing. The balls shot out like mini canon balls with so much power! With no effort I was hitting awesome looking low shots that carried between 100-125 yards.
Now I am going to start practicing with adding the downswing. I love this course!
