So, last week after another round I said to my mates maybe my clubs are too long. They're like, right you're over 6 feet how can they be too long?
I have an unusual shape. Waist up I'm 6-8. Waist down, 5-8. My inseam is 32 and I have long arms. When I stack, my hands are pretty low to the ground.
I went to the range and started swinging. If I hit it fat, I then would move my hands down the shift until the club would just graze the ground. I would choke the driver and magic, everything was crispy and straight! I was going to replace my driver shift anyway, so I had them cut it down from 46 inches to 44.
On the course I would place my hands on shaft depending on the lie. Once I started doing this I stopped hitting behind the ball.
I have read articles online about how club manufacturers have lengthend clubs to increase distance. I am finding that withthe shorter clubs I make better contact and I can swing faster so the distance really hasn't changed.
So my takeaway is the saguto method is still wicked good, I just needed to have the right club fit. Everyone is different shaped, check your length. If you keep hitting behind the ball, maybe the clubs are too long. I don't think Hogan swung 46 inch driver. Maybe he did , but I cannot.

I probably should shorten all my clubs. thank you for coming back and sharing your journey!
