If you struggle with low crappy shots with longer irons and hybrids, and ESPECIALLY the driver, check your stance width.
Yesterday I purposely widened my stance with my Ping 17* hybrid and hit WAY higher shots much farther. Prior to that, I caught myself with what I call a "7 iron" stance which promotes a steeper angle of attack. The shots were MUCH easier to hit with the widened stance. Then I widened with my driver and again, much better launch angle and distance. I should mention that I have also corrected my over-excessive torso "overhang" at address which is required to work with the new stance width.
I think narrower stances can "feel" more "controlled" but there's no doubt what I thought I was gaining in control was destroyed by the excessively negative angle of attack. Go wider and work backwards. At first it will feel "too wide" but give it some time because if you're like me, my brain was calibrated to employ an early release with the narrower stance with a longer club.
Watch Tom's newer stance width video, and check out his stance width. He's has a much wider stance than most folks, including me, even a 7-8 iron. But it's not.

I have been having the same problem with my 5 hybrid and my driver. My little 9 iron goes high and straight with no effort, but as my clubs get longer, I lose height, about 50% of the time. As I try harder, it gets worse. A wider stance with less forward tilt makes sense. I do remember Tom talking about this in one of his videos. That the swing is the same, but you don't tilt as much with longer clubs, and the . If you use his set-up routine, holding club out and tilting to the ground, it sets your correct tilt. I've got to pay more attention to this, maybe setting a wider stance before I tilt to the ground? I'm off to the range and will see how it goes.

@golflivesmatter Could you explain "torso 'overhang'"? Also, do you have the link to Tom's newer stance width video handy? Thanks man!
