Don't know what else to say?
Know sometimes at least for me in this season (of life) seem to lose that control focus, it's the only thing that makes sense.
Shot a weird 95.
Even though cashed a 2nd place finish last week with a 91, still like yesterday could be said that the only thing that was consisent was that I was inconsisent. Only thing that was there was short game. 13 putts on front 9 with 5 one putts.and 31 putts on the day.
Goal was no double bogeys, no penality strokes and no 3 putts. 3 putts was only one the made it through the round.
Height of inconsistency,
Front 9:
Bogey, Double Bogey, Bogey,Double B, PAR, PAR, PAR,DB, TB.
Similar back nine with 2 pars in there.
Frustrating part is just couldn't get it together. The consolation I will take as ugly as it was, it was a 95. Really grasping for a positive here, but to go on stretches on either end of the spectrum was just mind blowing.
Was pretty down yesterday when I got home. Thinking is this age catching up to me? But know I have the foundation and basics I need to turn it around. Maybe need to be more basic and let memory and swing keys take over. Think after personal relfection, I may be pressing a bit.
Crazy side note, The smoke from the Canadian forest fires has been down here for the past week and Alerts for air quailty have been on. So bad yesterday that friends Sirius radio was having issues along with my Arccos link, kept disconnecting if that is possible. Just shut it off didn't feel like putting phone in front pocket.
Thanks for listening and aching to get out next week, hoping for 2 days in a row to try and get out of this funk.
I know I am blessed with all you and by the Lord.
Blessings to alll,
Steven
Hello Steve. Thx for your post. Reading through this post I would say, like most of us, you are in your own head. I believe I have read or heard Tom say, practice when you practice but don't practice when you play. Play golf and have fun when on the course. Yes, make so.e correction if needed but most important, get out of your head and play.
Better days are ahead, no doubt! Hang in there.
HELP!
I'm sorry, this comment has nothing to do with the present discussion, but I don't know where else to ask for help.
I am totally mixed up with this new format. I watched Tom's new video about Pressure vs Weight. The video showed up in an odd place. It was on the right, bottom of my screen. I watched it and tried to send a comment. I got a response from an AI responder which was not at all relevant to my comments. Instead, it said I should join the school. I am a member of the school. Also, didn't Tom send out an email explaining the new format? On it, it said Library is now called something else. When I open Saguto.com. there is a directive from Tom to "click here" to gain access to the new format. When I do, it looks like the old format, with "Library" as he option to gain access to the video lessons.
I'm hoping someone can give me some direction.
Thanks,
Paula
Again Thanks for encouragement1
Just reserved time for next Thursday morning at close by course that I used a lot last year to hone game for approach and short game.
Playing partner should be making us a tee time for next Tuesday as well.
Upon further reflection, believe might have be going past my 3/4 backswing with final 1/4 acceleration that works the best for me.
Bad rounds will happen. The key is to not question your swing concept. But rather analyze your execution. In my experience, the doubles and triples happen when I make bad decisions, not bad swings. Did I try a hero recovery shot instead of getting the ball back in play? Once I finally got on the green, did I lose my concentration and 3-putt?
I bet a good analysis would show you could have shot about 85 easily by just changing a couple of decisions you made on the course.
Anyone who says "a bad day of golf beats a good day at work" is not really a golfer.....
It's not age. You've already proven that, so discard any such notion from your mind. The season is still young for you. Just need to find your groove, and the best way to do that - if possible - is to get out on the course more between league rounds. Get comfortable with your swing under the normal pressures of play, notch it back to 2.8 when some oil starts to leak, and dial in your new equipment. You got this.
