@Tom Saguto. You say clubface of irons guides ball to target. Is it the same philosophy for driver. You have videos hitting balls with irons than go to driver and say same set up etc. Is the clubface philosophy the same with driver?
I will test on range but thought I would ask you for face placement of driver and even woods. Is it the same like an iron?
Thanks for all your great work. My game has never been better!
@Tom Z - I'm very glad to learn of your progress!!
Ball flight rules – aka shot shaping - are a function of clubface as it relates to path and target line. Clubface relative to target line dictates the ball's starting line and face relative to path determines direction and degree of curvature.
The clubface should be square at the zero-point, which is even with the lead shoulder. Ball position will then determine whether the face is slightly open, neutral, or slightly closed with respect to the target line. For the stock push-draw ball flight, the face will be slightly open to the target line and slightly closed to the path at impact.
I don't know if this answers your question, but there is an entire course on shot shaping and the Grid in the school.
Keep up the great work!
