No need for me to explain the video because Tom and Eric do an excellent job. However, I wanted to point out that a buddy of mine today was working on the same type of movement / position(s) and failed. What he was focused on was "getting his trail elbow DOWN". This mindset led to dropping his right elbow behind his torso and he started hitting hooks and shanks. Basically he was getting his right elbow stuck behind his torso. Watch the video and and carefully watch the path the right elbow follows. It's not straight down, then around. So many folks, like my buddy, overdo, or overly focus on "one" isolated movement and thus wreck the rest of their swing.
On a side note, Eric's swing is nearly identical to SnT. The only difference I see is Eric shifts slightly to his trail side where Tom does not appear to shift. Only Tom can answer that but other than that their swings looks identical.
@GolfLivesMatter - Rather than trying to micromanage this one component, all your buddy really needs to do is preset the elbow condition and then just swing while keeping it in that position. That will get him unstuck and allow the arms to turn the corner on a good path rather than projecting the club so far outward.
As for Eric, he certainly fits well within the boundaries and allowable tolerances of S&T - perhaps he simply prefers not to engage in the "battle" by taking the label...😆
