Finally made it out to play today. Was alone for 18 which allowed me to get some practice in. I have not gotten all the way through the videos yet and just beginning but tried to incorporate parts of the swing. For some reason I was topping a lot of shots especially driver. I bladed a lot of iron shots. Not sure why I was raising up so bad but it was like I was turning my head before the club got to the ball. Then I ran through a few iron shots where I was dropping my back shoulder and chunking the club real bad. Need more practice.

I found immediate results with my shorter clubs but the longer clubs took a good 4 months. One eureka moment for me with the longer clubs was back in the set-up regarding ball position. I noticed that my ball position had crept backwards leading to a lot of topspin like shots. By moving it more forward I found KFC crispy contact.
Your zero point in regards to the grid is your lead shoulder, so I now use that as my reference point which has helped gain consistency on the longer clubs. I set that firstly and then put my feet into position secondly, then the weight forward.
I have experienced the same thing. I practice great but the course is different. I am finding that after a round when I look at a v1 I'm not tilting enough in by backswing and I'm not bringing the club in shallow enough. I also find I start moving my head up and down. I have to go back to Chapter 2 a lot. I'm still learning to trust the swing on the course. This is what happened to me last summer. I started watching Tom's YT and this got my game going. Then I started fooling around with elements of my old swing. by fall member member my swing was in the crapper. Now I'm starting over from scratch again. Anyway, I top my irons a lot and am working way too hard on the course with my driver. I then come home to my practice net and start working Chapter two again. I think it's just going to take consistent practice and patience to trust the system to translate to the course for me. That's my hope anyway.
