Anyone else notice that the leaders hit some really bad shots, drivers way off the fairway, hit bunkers on the approach shots, in thick rough, yet somehow they managed to save par? Imagine if we all had their 150 yard and in game, especially their 30 yard and in, bunker shots, and putting game?
A group of us were watching the last round and we guessed what we would have scored on most of the holes, and especially when the pro's got into trouble. We all agreed we would have at least bogeyed some holes, doubled others, and maybe a few triples. The guys generally agreed they would have incurred a boat load more strokes from off the green and putting. The consensus was the average decent golfer would have shot in the mid to high 80's at best.
The pro's short games are phenomenal. One guy said "maybe we should skip the range and head straight to the short game practice area and putting green". For a moment, nobody said anything. LOL.
