Hey Saguto golfers, I had a break through on the range today. Our local course allows us to hit on grass on the weekend which had been a thorn in my side cause it's more like hitting on dirt (it's not a friendly lie compared to mats). After countless sessions of feeling like I wanted to quit after hitting from the dirt due to fat shots and hitting ahead of the ball, I finally figured the S&T swing out. I have been committed to this swing due to Tom's teachings and simply believing it was the best system for consistent contact but have not had a ton of success yet. My aha moment came after feeling like I was literally putting most of my weight on my left side and simply pivoting around the left side while keeping arms straight. I was able to manage the radius of the swing by keeping the left arm straight and allowing the right arm to fold. The consistency of the swing and seeing the ball explode off the face with dirt flying behind the ball with a nice divot was an incredible feeling. I'm feeling like I can apply this swing on the course with consistency and looking for ward to generating some good scores. Hang in there with this swing if it hasn't clicked yet. The ball compression is amazing.

That's awesome, Oliver!! You essentially backed into the 90% Weight Forward/Arms Straight Drill, and that is definitely a fabulous way to crisp up the ball striking.
Thanks for sharing your progress, keep up the great work, and enjoy that wonderful feel of compression!!
