Quick question, what comments/complaints do you hear from other golfers, either on the course or while sitting at the 19th hole? Here's some I've heard:
I missed five putts inside 10 feet today, if I had made those putts I would have shot "X".
I almost killed my buddy today when I bladed a sand shot on #14.
Why can't I putt like I do on the practice putting green?
I had all these notes on my phone and I still played lousy.
I'm going back to my old swing, that pro really goofed me up.
You're into that "Voodoo" S&T, I tried that and it messed up my swing/back/putting/chipping. LOL
There's many more!
Funny from yesterday...on a par 3 with water down the right side and in front, or a half island green.
Player A: I always hit it right...into the water, at least 15 yards right.
Player B: Then aim 15 yards left.
Player A: I tried that and I still hit it in the water.
Player B: Next time while on the range, aim 15 yards left of your target and see if you can hit your target.
Player A: I don't think I could do that on the range, I'd really have to try.
Player B: Then how do you do it on this hole?
Player A: I don't know, it's weird.
Yeah that first one happens super consistently among my golfing buddies. The 3-putts just hurt so bad when they stop you from posting a good score
Also, that one about having a bunch of notes on my phone hits too close to home.
How about the guy who's swing is all over the map talking about going in to get fitted for new clubs because that's been the problem all along? LOL.
LOL, @GolfLivesMatter - seems to me that you have yet another book in the making!! 😆
I heard this last week while heading to the first tee from the range....
"I hope I can take this swing to the course".
Why do you "hope" you'll take that swing to the course? Isn't it the same swing?
"When I'm on the course everything changes. I have to be more aware of what I'm doing out there".
Summary: The guy shot 97...3 more than his prior round. His shots on the course were nothing like his far better shots on the range.
"
Yesterday...#1....
"I missed six putts inside 6 feet today!. I would have broken 90 if I made most of those putts!".
How much do you practice putting?
"Maybe 5-10 minutes because I get bored pretty quickly".
Yesterday...#2....
"I had a lesson from the pro about improving my pitch shots".
What did he teach you that's different?
"He wants me to keep my right hand back through the shot, and rotate my body thru the shot vs. punching the ball".
Are you doing that today?
"I would, but I don't want to feel the pressure on the course, but I'll eventually start trying it on the course".
Me. Last weekend. Short as usual drive just clears the swamp, but well right to adjacent fairway. Son: There's someone behind that tree. Me: No one is dead. He's still standing, but I was close. 😁
Son: Closest you've been to a target in six months.
Thin to win Knifed it Fat hitting mf Get in the hole Oh, don’t go in (my favorite when it looks like a chip will find it’s home - don’t want to jinx it). Still got some work to do on that putt Keep your head down Did that stay in? I hit that so solid, one F’ing branch 90% air Go! What the F’? Often followed by Mulligan
How about this one we hear a lot:
Dave: "Maybe I should get a new driver so I can hit longer drives, what driver do you hit as far as you do""
Ed: "Well, I'm hitting a 2012 Ping driver".
Dave: "Oh".
"Wow, look how far I hit that 7 iron, did you hit your 7 iron because mine went 15 yards farther!"
"The loft on your 7 iron is 27*, mine is 34*, plus your 7 iron is a half inch longer than mine".
"Yeah but look how far I hit that!!!"
"I always do that."
"There I go again."
How about this Q&A:
I lost my swing today.
What swing did you lose?
My normal swing.
What swing is that?
Not the swing I had today.
When will you find it?
I don't know.
LOL! I'll pin your post and see what types of replies it garners...
