@Paul Saulnier - My first bit of advice: Find a warmer climate so you can practice and play more in order to stay consistent....😎
I just responded to a similar question from Steve who is 7' tall and just getting started. HERE is a link to that post. I think my advice applies equally as well here.
And yes - as @danny says, it's a must to really lock down those foundational elements upon which the swing is built. He should know as I've given him after-school detention and sent him back to Chapter 2 more times than I can count!...🤣
More tilt! This photo shows what i was feeling at the range the other day. I don't think that may is wide enough for a comfortable setup. You look all scrunched to me...
Anyway, focus on the tilt, it seems we're never as tilted as we think we are.
You club shaft is point at or above your navel, then club should be point just below you belt buckle. To do that you need to address the ball more and get the chest down toward the ball. I think when yo do that, you'll find your feet may be further from the ball. Then you end up at the extents of that stupid mat. Which was what I could never get accustomed to at the range recently.
I'd head back to chapter 1 in the school real quick.
Thanks guys!
