I am struggling with this type of shot. What is your technique when you want to keep it low so you don't hit tree branches and just want to get out of jail? I either go to high or hit it fat? In the past I would take a 5 iron and play it back in my stance then try to extend my wrists through the shot. Curious if you use the same chipping technique you teach with this shot or do you modify?

I would first suggest viewing the "Chipping Revamped - Introduction" chapter of the Chipping & Pitching course, beginning with this video. The three lesson that follow it in that same chapter are musts for chipping, pitching, and punch shots. After that migrate down to the "Pitching Simplified REVAMPED" chapter where you'll find some very valuable lessons that would also be applicable to punch shots, including Straight Arms, the Musts of Consistently Clean Contact, the Chest Down Drill, the Weight Forward Drill, and more. The chapter closes with two lessons on trajectory control, which should help you get it under those tree branches!
As a side note, this Impact Drill from the YT Channel is great for hitting crispy punch shots as well!
