I really like his teachings on bunker play. I use to be HORRIBLE with a sand wedge and the old school teaching of cutting across, etc. etc. I just did a lot of experimenting and trial and error came to get out of the sand, pretty much exactly like he teaches. I use a lob with no wrists, all powered with shoulders. I tend to have the same sand conditions in Florida, that he described for SC. I will have to experiment with the hands back, I haven't done that. My lob wedge is also 10 degrees bounce. I will always get out of the bunker in one shot now. Before was an absolute nightmare with a 56 sand wedge. I highly recommend using a lob wedge to get the ball up faster and let distance be controlled by swing. Thank you Tom, for keeping it simple for us guys that aren't going to practice for hours a day. I've seen so many different methods on You Tube, this one from Tom works amazing.

Nice job, @Doug S. I'm glad to know you're have nicer visits to the beach these days! 😎 It's really a matter of putting in the time to see what works most effectively and consistently for you - first for just getting out of the sand, and then gradually getting better control of trajectory, direction, and distance.
