Hey everyone,
Here's a google drive link to my recent range video. It's only 6 mins or so long but shows my first foray into the longer clubs since practicing what Tom is teaching. To be honest I haven't hit a 5 iron at all since I was a junior, this was fun:
I know there's probably loads wrong with how I'm swinging and much more needs a lot of work etc but this was just to show the community 40 odd shots using a 5 iron at the very early stages of my swing development, I had a blast for all the flaws.
Let me know if dropping this link here isn't allowed and I'll take it down.
Jamie.
I'm glad I am in good company, Jamie. Last year I came back to golf after twenty-one years - a little wider, stiffer and battered from a couple of accidents. Played from June to August and really enjoyed it despite losing a ton of balls and hitting a three wood the same distance as I used to hit a 7 iron. Following a shoulder replacement I thankfully found Tom's youtube videos - I'll never outdrive my sons, but I reckon I can put a wee bit of pressure on them by the end of this year.😀
Thanks Tom, will do!
LOL! It was probably from you poking a hole in the stratosphere with those crispy push-draws, Jamie!
By the way, feel free to post a shorter clip of a couple of swings here - preferably one face-on and another down-the line - and tag some of the "regulars" to get their thoughts and suggestions. You can find out who some of them are by going through a few of the other threads in this section.
Cheers!
Tom
Absolutely, Tom! I expected the longer iron to just say "No, you shall not pass!" but it opened up and made for some real fun. Thank you so much, that's most kind of you to have a look and say. I'm very grateful and thankful for you sharing your knowledge. Even hitting bad shots didn't feel as bad as I knew a good one would come round to me again. Did you notice the golf ball shaped circular cloud formation? It was most probably the God of Consistency or the God of KFC Crispiness blessing me for a spell. 😂
"Had a blast." Now isn't that really what it's all about, Jamie!! Well done. I'm very glad to know that you are reacquainted with your 5 iron and that y'all are enjoying each other's company!!
Without getting into any kind of actual analysis - which I must reserve for my V1 lessons - it looks like you've got some good things going on and plenty of swing speed. Keep up the great work and keep having fun out there!!
