@Matthew Abell - The backswing looks awesome. You’re not really over the top as much as you’re just pulling the club left. This is caused by over rotating the hips one the downswing. You almost need to restrict the hips turning through on the downswing and let your upper body pull them closed. That’s the feeling you need anyway.
A good drill to train the feeling is to move that right foot back behind you in the setup and swing. Your hips will be closed at address but that is ok.
@Matthew Abell - Without getting into any specific analysis here, I just want to piggyback on @Nocona Colt Abernathy's reply and suggest the two lessons from Get Out and Go Play on training the downswing beginning with this one. This will help to quite those hips early in the downswing and delay their rotation until the appropriate time.
Welcome to the online school and this great forum community, @Matthew Abell!!
While I personally refrain from offering swing video analyses here as it conflicts with my V1 service, I'm confident you'll find that many of the "regulars" here have a solid knowledge of the swing and can offer very valuable insight from their respective experiences. If you do not receive any responses, I encourage you to look at some of the other posts here in the Video Analysis Room, see who some of the regular analysts are, and tag them here in your post (use the "@" sign and then start typing their name and the system will then give you the ability to choose that member - just like I did in tagging you at the top of this message).
A quick technical note: It's far more convenient for your fellow members here if you can post your swing videos by clicking on the "add a video" icon (the video camera image towards the lower left of the comment screen). This should embed the videos in your post for easy and immediate viewing as opposed to having to choose to download it to their computer when the "add a file" option is selected.
Thanks, and we look forward to hearing from you regularly here in the forum!!
