So hello fellow Saguto Golfers, I like many of you have decided to start having fun playing golf and stop chasing my balls around in the desert (las vegas). I am finally starting to hit the ball in the intended direction 3 out of 5 times, but am still struggling to figure everyting out. What things about my swing look good and what sucks?

Thanks Tom K!
Looks like you had good ball contact. The first thing that jumped out at me was that your head seemed to shift or sway to the right side. That may be why you have good contact 3 out of 5 times. Otherwise, your swing looks pretty good.
Thanks Rudi, for the good tips. I am struggling with keeping my arms straight especially in the downswing through impact, I still have a bit of a chickenwing -probably since I am still a bit over the top. I plan on watching the grapefruit video. The clubs are +1 inches already but I am swiging an 8 iron so probably looks a bit short.
Perhaps it would be helpful to see all videos in the KFC-Club.
Todays video there is a good example. It shows the upper body moving back and how to fix it.
For me one of the most important problem was to keep the left arm straight.
Next point was to hold the "parmesan-pocket, cheese-wedge, flying wedge" during the downswing.
My personal gamechanger was the "grapefruit-drill". The lesson in KFC is called "how to have straight arms". There Tom shows to bring your but under the hips and extending the body. So you have 100 % of your weight on the lead leg.
Have a look at your shoulders. The first part of the backswing they seem not to move.
My feeling is that I start the backswing only by turning my shoulders.
By the way, can it be that the shaft your club is to short, I think you can google this point.
Your welcome,
Have you seen Tom's video with alignment sticks? One on the ground at your feet and 1 stuck in the ground by your left leg helping you lean into the stick to help with forward motion?
Keep swinging......If we are not practicing and going forward then we are going in reverse....no such thing as stagnant in my experience in many things, ESPECIALLY where knowledge and learning are involved!
Thanks Steven, feedback is the breakfast of champions! I struggle with coming over the top too and have tried to keep my arms straight and extended like you say. Good catch on the back swing and I will work on it getting it more in line with my shoulders. As for the knee kick-in on backswing, not sure how to eliminate it but i think it helps me with my rhythm.
Thanks for nice comments Mr. Saguto. The analysis definitely from paying attention to you and hunger for all the information you put out there. Also maybe still have some of the analytical skills from when I use to train race horses (Trotters & Pacers) and observe their gait for signs of soreness or injury many moons ago.
Tried to share some of you enlightenment and videos with my older brother, no luck.
Amazes me people will quote the people they play with that are mired in the same game and handicap and expect different results, even though there has been no consistent improvement or consistence of play. FUSTRATING!!!!!
Equally ready to hear constructive criticism from fellow forum members when I post.
I'm sure everyone here understands the value of like students interacting, because we are absorbing the same material and system.
This is why I know I am going to like this forum and school!
Bruce I will post mine when Colorado weather lets me....soon will be on range getting ready for league that starts in 6 weeks.
Okay I will take a stab at it using what Mr. Saguto shows and says in his videos.
Pausing and starting video.
Overall looks like good foundation.
Front on view looks like front(left )knee goes more to the back then forward and down,
Back view, again good foundation but looks a bit over the top and might need to come down below shoulder and more in middle of back.
My 2 cents
We look similar and I struggle a little with the over the top sometimes.
The thing I like a bout Tom's tips is arms straight and extended, I actually started doing that last year with my driver with something call single plain swing, but only on my driver and mad a huge difference . That is how I know when I seen Tom's video's they were right on course with were I wanted to go and can understand and implement.
Keep swing and keep posting and hope you will return comment when I post.
Steven
@Bruce Barnes - I'm glad to see that you posted your swing here. Some of your fellow members are typically good about scanning this area for new activity and offering some excellent feedback. In the event you do not see any replies within the next couple of days, I suggest checking some other videos threads here to see who the usual responders are and then tagging them directly.
Looks like some beautiful weather in the desert!!
That you are in Las Vegas and I'm freezing here in Idaho
