Hi Guys
You may find another post of mine a bit further down. I have been hard at it over the Winter trying to get to a point where I can have a round of golf without wanting to sell my clubs. I have just had another range session this morning which wasn’t pretty. Somehow I have lost distance on my irons - in the video my 8i is carrying about 110yds. Can anybody please give me any pointers as I really am close to giving up the game for good. i am trying to hold my wrists quiet in the takeaway and then hinge at the top. Weight left side. Swing down starting with my hip otherwise I get too armsy and flip the club. I probably do flip still in this video
ps i know I am in jeans and breaking the no1 rule in golf
I got to tell you in my opinion you swing does not look bad. Looks better than mine and I am definitely not quitting. Maybe it is your posture maybe it's you take away I don't know. Hate to be a little mean, but get you head out of your butt and enjoy your game. Have fun out there. You look like your young and more than enough time to get better as your having fun. Fix it at practice and have fun when your out there. Remove quitting from your vocabulary..
It looks like your posture to me. I went through this recently. I had a session at the range and must have shanked 50 balls. I went back and studies Tom's posture. He was more upright than I had appreciated. His shoulders are over his toes. You look to be too bent over. I was and I fixed it.
don't quit! your swing looks good. A DTL view would be most beneficial. Maybe you have shitty range balls that don't carry :)
@danny_k95 - While I personally refrain from offering specific swing video analyses here as it conflicts with my V1 service, I must day that in viewing your swing there is a lot of very good stuff going on. It's difficult to tell visually from the DTL view, but it does sound as though your club is hitting the mat prior to the ball, so there may be an issue with some rearward drifting of your swing center and low point. If that is indeed the case, then the 90% Weight Forward/Arms Straight Drill may help.
Other than that, based on your comment it seems as though you are micromanaging your swing and your positions. This is certainly necessary when trying to ingrain a particular part of the motion, but ultimately when we put it all together we need to trust it and "let it go". Distance, accuracy, and consistency will then follow. I call it "giving up control to gain control".
By the way, have we done a V1 Swing Video Analysis yet? If not, then I highly recommend that we do one as it is the most effective way to get things back on track. This will enable me to put my eyes on your swing and offer some very specific observations and action plans. I liken it to bringing your swing into the shop for a tune-up or minor repair. Scheduling one on a quarterly basis for preventive maintenance will do wonders for keeping things humming along nicely, and it's also a great tool for pinpointing and resolving any issues that arise. The process involves downloading the free V1 app and then submitting two videos to me through the app - one down-the-line (captured from your stance line, not the target line) and the other face-on. You'll find more information about the V1 Analysis on this page of the Saguto.Golf site.
Your swing is too good to even consider quitting, so let's not put those clubs on eBay..... 😎

I can't see your video. I've tried on my computer and my phone. Sorry.
Another shot aka SHANK for reference. Please give me any pointers you can and be as brutal as needed.
