Hey fellow schoolmates! Posting 2 swings from today below, working on tucked elbow and pushing hips towards the target to start the downswing. As well as 2.8. Any tips / tricks greatly appreciated.
a couple things to add... two pictures below. Look at gap between your trail elbow and your torso. That elbow needs to be tucked. That will help with your casting. It's really hard to cast with that elbow tucked in.
- your head move way off it's starting point. Look at the yellow lines in the two pics and compare based on the black curtain behind you. Your entire upper body is lunging towards the target. including your head. Keep your head steady.
There are a lot of "variables" that could be adjusted (some of these come down to personal preference), but the main issue is your head moving so much. Your lower body moves well, but your head is causing the casting. It is literally impossible to keep your arms close to your body when your head is moving toward the ball.
If you have someone to help you, have them hold a club shaft by your head and make some swings, or you can use an alignment stick and a pool noodle to do this yourself.
Hello Emil. Just wanted to say at your address, your club face looks really open. Take a look and see what you think. Might want to toe it in a bit. You do have a nice hip and shoulder turn, so you are ahead on that. Good luck. Cal
Your feet look too far apart. As for the casting, Tom says think of the right forearm s the deliverer of power. Some people say it's the analogy of skimming a stone across a pond. The right arm extends through the ball, delivering the fastest clubhead speed just after impact.

As one can easily see from face-on I "cast" and release all angles way early in the swing, cant seem to get rid of it sadly
