Too much shoulder down resulting in shanks and utter misery. Played out of my skin for 2/3 months using Toms teachings then 3 weeks ago started to shank the ball. Tried all the usual fixes and couldn’t really replicate it on the range. Played yesterday and asked my buddy to video it-all is revealed. Head losing loads of height. Any tips/critique appreciated.

@ian turnbull - Without getting into a swing video review - which I must reserve for my V1 Analysis service - the condition of your head dipping down is typically associated with a deficiency in the extension component. Here's a lesson specific to this. In fact, you may find some benefit to working through the entire Get Out and Go Play fast track program as it may help you to quickly identify and resolve whatever issues may have crept in.
@GolfLivesMatter may be able to help with the shanking thing. In fact if you type the word shank into the Forum search you'll likely find some of his detailed contributions in this regard. There is also this hosel rocket lesson in the same Get Out and Go Play program.
In the future, please post your swing videos in the Forum's Video Analysis Room as that is the more appropriate place to involve the community in this process.
Beyond that, it is difficult to overstate the value of the V1 Analysis service for both swing repair and maintenance purposes. If feasible, I recommend doing one at least quarterly during the season to make sure that everything is on the proper track, and as needed if an issue arises that can't be self-corrected either through online school diagnostics and drills or here in the Forum with the community's assistance.
