I'm trying to figure out. If I have dead hands and arm does this mean I just tilt turn & extend and than swing with my body and let the arm just ride along with the body movement?
I got to that feeling by reading a post from @ihmpadre like Tom mentioned. For me, my arms just hang with not a whole lot of tension. To start the takeaway, I simply begin turning my shoulders. I do definitely have my arms glued to my chest and side when I am focusing on turning the shoulders. Once I reach the top, I feel like I am turning my right shoulder down and through the ball. At this point those are my two swing thoughts! Give that a try!
Pretty much, @Bill Mo. It's along the lines of what I mean when I say "give up control to gain control". Ensure you have a good, secure grip, proper setup, connections established, etc. Then relinquish control to the backswing body motions as described in Chapter 2 while allowing the lead arm to cross your chest. From the top, the lateral targetward hip slide initiates the downswing and continues through impact while your upper torso maintains its center. Keep those upper arm/chest connections intact throughout the swing and it can all happen nicely on autopilot.
This was a feel that @ihmpadre referenced on multiple occasions. I know he's rather busy, but perhaps he might see this and add his perspective.
