So...I am new here and LOVE the stack and tilt method! In just 1 week, I straightened out my ridiculous hook shot and I am taking divots for the first time in my life. I have always been a scooper, now I am having to clean my clubs more often! Very happy about that. Shot a 78 yesterday...usually I'm 80-85. Tom is an amazing instructor!
Here is my issue...I am having difficulties getting the tilt right. I can't seem to figure out when to start the tilt and at the same time turn. I think I end up dipping on a good number of my shots, which leads to fat shots. I am supposed to tilt towards the target correct? How do I tilt towards the target and turn at the same time? It's like rubbing my stomach and patting my head at the same time...it is difficult for me. Any advice is appreciated!
It’s really hard to think about tilt separately. All the movements happens at the same time. A good way to keep the proper feel of backswing is the place your head against a wall while in a golf setup (no club) and turn back. Keep your weight forward and shoulder down. This will give you the proper ”feel”.
Heres Tom explaining it…
