@Ritchie Morrison With regard to the backswing tilt, if the shoulder line is pointing to a spot inside the ball, that may be a bit too steep. At the ball or slightly outside of it is what we're trying for, and the key is to maintain that same orientation of the upper torso from address to the top of the backswing through the proper combination of tilting, turning, and extending.
I strongly recommend taking video of your swing, drawing the lines (such as on the V1 app), and actually seeing where you are actually at. It's "feel vs. real", and the camera won't lie!!
