I think I’m finally on the right trac. I was hitting heel shots, getting stuck and all kind of messy stuff.. then decided to take the club more “outside“ deliberately and drop it back in and boom. Solid strike. When I checked this move in the mirror my arms are connected, club head is outside the hands on the takeaway.. but the feeling is like I’m looping it way out and then in and under?! I can feel the club sort of re-route??. Is this correct or something that is a compensation likely to cause issues later on?

@garybarber1981 - I'm glad to learn of your self-discovery. Impact and ball flight will tell you all you need to know...
Since your connections are intact, what you are feeling is likely the differentiation between a past move of rolling/snatching/sucking the club to the inside with the hands vs. the proper hands-in/club-out takeaway. The unique overhead perspective in this YT channel video may provide a good visual of what I am referring to.
GREAT job!!

It's all about feel vs real. As longs as you're not really looping the club, then I don't see an issue. I would suggest videoing yourself and actually watching the club path. Unfortunately, our swings are always a working progress, so it's important that we are able to properly identify swing faults and what REALLY causing our issues. As someone who is a former shifter and lifter, I can tell you that one of my faults is taking the club back on plane and then dropping my hands further causing a big push to the right. My swing thought when this happens is actually trying to feel like I swing over the top, but what I REALLY do is deliver the club on plane.
