So I had my ah ha moment. I could never understand what you meant by the “punch “happens automaticalLy. my tilt is good, my path was good, but there was still something missing. I would practice by feeling like I was punching with an open palm to the inside to keep the wedge but that caused me to over rotate. Then it happened... i finally realized my hands were WAY to active still. Now I feel like my arms beat my chest to the ball, and my hands feel “quiet”. I still can feel the relationship with the face, but they aren’t active. on video my arms are straight through impact, I keep the wedge, and I’m hitting center face every time. It took 15-20 minutes to get comfortable with it as my hands were always more active that my arms in the swing, but I feel like I can start hitting the ball with the wrath of god ! Land of milk and honey and crispy KFC HERE I COME WITH A VENGEANCE AND 5 years of inconsistent and poor golf to make up for !

@tarheeldave - There's a point in the downswing where the upper body slows down in order for the arms, hands, and finally the clubhead to accelerate through the zone. It's like cracking a whip in which energy is transferred to the tip.
Here's the intro video to the Crack the Whip chapter in the Power + Distance section. You can learn all about it in this chapter, but remember that it's critical to have the basic swing motions (i.e.: Chapters 1 & 2 of Golf Swing Simplified) working properly prior to building in these lessons.
Jason I celebrate you're Ah Ha moment! I'm still searching for the land of milk and honey. ☺
Tom what does "Now I feel like my arms beat my chest to the ball" actually translate into golf physiology? Or maybe point me to the lesson that explains the movement? Thank you
Fabulous job figuring this out, @Jason Thibodeau, and welcome to the extra crispy KFC buffet of ball striking bliss!!
Thanks for sharing your key discovery, keep up the great work, and have fun out there as you take your game to a new level!
