So I played twenty seven holes today. The first four were horrible so I just ripped up my score card and decided since there was hardly anyone at the course I’d just work on my game, and then it began to get a little better. At some point around seventeen it hit me I had not been properly tilting. I was trying to turn my shoulder down (and I mean really down) without a proper tilt. Also, I had read an article years ago that talked about playing from different tees to get a different perspective of the course. I figured I’d play what we generally refer to as the senior tees (second from the front). When I teed off on ten again I made sure to tilt and WOW!!! I smashed a three wood high, straight and far. It felt super weird so I could hear @Tom Saguto’s voice in my head saying “If it doesn’t feel strange, you’re not making a change.“ Also I realized I was over swinging on the back swing so I focused on “feeling” like I was only making a half or three quarter swing. I don’t like having more than one swing thought at a time but eventually I was able to handle “Arms straight, tilt, three quarter back swing”. I played the best nine holes I’ve ever played in my life. Once I get this new feel refined, I’ll move back to the white tees. So if you’re having issues and want to work them out, try moving up to a different tee box. It gives you more confidence so to allow you to focus more on mechanics. And if you play that course a lot it’ll give you a completely different perspective on it.

I had to consciously think about it…..tilt - rotate - extend - straight arms - blast away. The former is becoming less and less as the new habits become engrained. I feel like my swing is in Recovery from the addiction of Lift and Strike.
Thanks for this post, I JUST started yesterday this tilt thing. I thought it happened on it's own, I couldn't have been more wrong. lol
