I am doing well so far working on the saguto golf system, when I hit it well I’m getting the push draw, happy days. When I’m not hitting it so great I occasionally push fade it, which I think comes from opening the face excessively?
the other “bad shot” which is sooo bloody annoying is the heel strike. I would like to get rid of it forever. looking at some S&T grid images, the club needs to swing left post impact, which is what I think I’m missing. That said, I really don’t understand how I can achieve that without coming over the top or hitting fades ???!
Got it, thank you. Makes sense. I’m working on the hip bump at the moment and that massively helps to get the club on the path. I’m doing the “bump, stop, hit” drill that is also on you tube. “Rome wasn’t built in a day” as the saying goes but Saguto Golf wasn’t on that particular job 😂
@garybarber1981 - Exactly what @Nocona Colt Abernathy said. The club is simply proceeding on it's natural, unmanipulated journey back to the inside. Any contrived move designed to continue the thrusting of the club to the outside and off of its predetermined arc can result in the types of misses you are describing.
@garybarber1981 - The club is not "swinging" left. It is just continuing to move along the arc assuming you maintain your connections with your arms to your body.
A lot of players assume to hit a draw you need to swing out (which is true, but this is done using the setup and ball position), but they try to actively swing the club out to the right using their hands and arms, which is most likely what is causing your heel strikes and your push fades.
Takeaway: Maintain your arms connection to your body and rotate. This will cause the club to work along the arc in the grid.
