Hey All,
What's your favourite of the steep downswing section for over the top? I find a number of the alignment stick ones tricky to do in my practice set up (garage - hard to stick sticks into ground). I find the over active trail shoulder drill very helpful to get that side bend/hip bump, but only when I work through it really slowly. Should I keep that up and just give it time? I've felt like I've hit some nice shots with that effortless power when I really slowly move the club into the happy zone, but it's very forced and I know I'm losing some of the natural "flow". Hope ya'll are having a good week!
When we're trying to build in new "feels" and beat down those stubborn old swing demons, it may just have to feel contrived for a while. This especially applies to the over-the-top move and forcing that club into the "happy zone". It will take time - and hopefully quite a bit of video to differentiate between "feel vs. real" - but gradually it will begin to resolve itself as the shallowing of the path gets ingrained. It's not dissimilar to a rehab process that is painfully tedious and produces barely noticeable results initially, but slow, properly executed reps eventually begin to rewire the body to where the program can be executed at gradually increasing speed.
Trust me as one who has been there - the reward is worth the therapy!
