So I love the feeling of punching the ball with the flying wedge trail hand while keeping my back to the target as long as possible, yet I’m still getting shanks And when I feel like I’m punching with my hands more to the inside I over rotate and lose the straight lead arm. Is this a hand path problem or an arm/body connection problem?

because now im wondering if im just not turning
and im still feeling like im holding the hips back correct?
I'm not an advocate of feeling any type of punching or hitting motion at the transition as that tends to lead to an over-the-top chop in the downswing. Have you been following this Flying Wedge drill from the Get Out and Go Play program? If not, that would be my best suggestion for learning how to properly execute it.
should i feel like im punching AT the ball, or from the top, hands punch down infront of the ball?
I love the crispyness of it ! i feel like im right on the verge of a major breakthrough but now the hand path seems to be another puzzle to solve.
@Jason Thibodeau,
That Flying Wedge impact sure is crispy pure, right?
With regard to the hosel rockets, have a look at this lesson and see if it helps you to unravel the mystery.
