Just watched the video casting too early -loading trail arm in the Fixing Common Swing Problems section in school.
now I haven’t applied it yet, but I finally applied this concept while in my living room. I was easily creating what would be divots in the grass but in my carpet lol. Hoping this is my a-ha moment!
my problem is I was trying to keep this 90 degree angle in my elbow through impact which was causing me to have to bend down even lower at impact. I knew something had to be off! It just didn’t feel right
so @Tom...it’s Load arm, keep the 90 degree angle at top of swing and when club is at parallel. once you start passing parallel, that’s when you start gradually extending trail arm to punch through ball. The yellow arrow depicts trail arm punching downward
Yes, @jon! Do not mistake the "flying wedge" for thinking that you must retain that 90-degree angle between lead arm and shaft - and thus the 90-degree bend in your trail arm - through impact! Remember, the "wedge" is the angle created by the trail forearm and shaft at address - that's the one you want to hold onto!
As a suggestion, try focusing yourself on the "Straight Arms" portion of This 90% Weight Forward Drill. It may help you in building the feel you are seeking in this regard.
Nice job with the self-discovery!!
