What will produce more power, setting up 65-35 to 70-30 and not having to use the lateral hip movement, or setting up 55-45 to 60-40 and starting the downswing with the lateral hip bump? I set up 70-30 to take the lateral movement out of the swing, but my body still wants to start the downswing with a little rotation. Ive worked with the skateboard drill, but are there some other feels to help this?

Power...OK. But on the course I'm not looking for power with irons, I'm looking for accuracy. While some guys are hitting a PW 135 to a pin, I'm doing one of Tom's drills using an 8 iron punch shot. I understand power for driver, but for me, I like a very controlled "drill shot" to greens. I do not roll-release the wrists and the shots are SO much easier. But that could just be me...LOL.
Isn't it amazing how we can build layer upon layer.
So many great tools and tips in this Academy & Forum!
Another good way to think about it is this. I sometimes don’t turn enough in the tail bone to target drill, so I like to think of it as the “turn the other cheek drill”. If you focus on starting the takeaway by turning your trail butt cheek so it is facing or moving toward the target…it’s the same as tailbone to target but sometimes a different way of thinking about it or a different feel will work better. This way of thinking about it helped me so I know I’m turning properly
mix tailbone to target with the spine extension and proper tilt, head stays in place perfectly and opens you up for a crazy amount of effortless power!
I added this Tailbone to Target move to my Drill 2.8. OMG!!! Talk about some crispy KFC contact. Ball dead center of the club face every time. Thank you jthibodeau1991 for asking the awesome question and thank you Tom for the sage advice! I am so glad I ended up here on Saguto.golf with all you awesome folks. My golf game will be super fun from now on!
@jthibodeau1991 - If you've been through the Power + Distance section of the school, then you know about the various power accumulators. At this point, working the drills and building in your own unique feels are going to bring them to life for you. I would not suggest setting up 65-70% forward unless doing it temporarily to ingrain something. Rather than doing that, have you experimented with the Tailbone2Target move? Also, this lesson immediately preceding T2T is about retracting the trail shoulder - a definite power move. Finally, in the last part of this YT episode featuring a demonstration by fellow S&T instructor Nico, he shows us what he does to hit it high and far.
