@GolfLivesMatter began his comment with the words "For me". That should tell y'all everything you need to know. The golf swing is built on a compilation of personal "feels" that are unique to each of us individually. Over time we ingrain these feels into a complete motion that we can execute without need for mechanical thoughts. We are then able to simply allow our ball striking and shot shape to be our guide, making only occasional minor setup tweaks when necessary. That is what it means to "take ownership of YOUR swing".
For me, I don't think "tailbone towards the target" at the top because if I am properly stacked over the ball at the top, my tailbone automatically gets into that slightly forward position. If I manually focus on that movement, then my weight can start shifting around too much, and for me, it can easily shift to my right foot in effort to try and "push" the tailbone left, or get too much weight on my left side and get ahead of the ball.
Ive worked with tom on setting my hips forward and on the takeaway my tailbone goes towards the target. This way all i have to do is accelerate my arms.
Yes, @Jason Thibodeau - By taking care of the majority of the lateral hip movement in the backswing through proper tailbone-to-target execution, the downswing really does become that simple! @plodzienpaul, here is a lesson on this.
Whatever works best for you, @plodzienpaul. For @jthibodeau1991 it is obviously the arms. For many others it's the lateral targetward movement of the legs and hips. Here's a lesson from the YT channel that offers Mr. Hogan's thoughts on the subject.
@Tom Saguto I just saw the Tailbone 2 Target video. It appears to be a synchronizaction of both pelvis/tailbone and arms I guess. If you’re having trouble with the tailbone to target then concentrate/work on that first. Maybe, lol!
