One of the thing I’ve recently researched is determining the optimum driver loft for maximum distance and control based on your swing speed. This has a been a real eye opener for me as it seems as though I may have been playing with the wrong loft for years. My driver swing speed is between 90-95 depending on the length of my backswing/right shoulder retraction. I have a 9 degree driver that is adjustable to 10.5. Based on my research, I should be closer to 13-14 degrees so I just purchased a new 12 deg driver head from eBay to give it a try. Just wondering if you have any thoughts on this subject. Thanks!

Put my custom driver in the closet this year (10.5). After I'm confident hitting my new TM Sim 3-wood... and my hybrid-woods, then maybe I'll bring it out. But my ego is firmly in check, just learn this swing and stay in the short stuff. Course management will deal with the rest. 🤟🏻
In my case, the flight of the ball is much higher and more normal as I use more Driver's loft, but I lose distance because my sping increases considerably and therefore the ball does not penetrate and when it loses strength it dies and does not run nor 10yards down the fairway, so I have about the same carry distance as total distance. If I could correct and lower the spin, I would surely hit longer with a 10.5 loft than with a 9.
If more people would put aside their egos in terms of loft, shaft flex, etc., they would soon gain on-course egos from the resulting consistently crispy ballstriking experience and lower scores. Which matters most?? Just sayin'.... 🤣
In the uber-competitive, multi-billion dollar golf equipment industry, club mfr's would not be making higher lofted drivers if there was neither reason nor demand. Try different things and see what performs best for you and your swing!
The best thing is to be fitted. (Thanks captain obvious) But seriously, it's all about the spin your swing produces and the launch angle. There's definitely no harm in trying higher lofted drivers but the shaft is just as important to optimize launch and spin as the actual loft. Just a thought!
It can be an ego thing hitting lower loft when what you need is more loft! I'm about the same swing speed as you and currently trying 10.5. The best driver I ever hit was a Nike SQ Sumo which had an awful sound to it, but was a 12 degree which seemed to suit me. Food for thought again regarding my 10.5!
