I have a power package golf aid. I am trying to correct across the line and a cupped left wrist. It is a very good training aid, however it is hard to switch it from one club to another. I put it on an old 8 iron. I have taken many many swings by swinging the old 8 iron and then hitting a practice ball with an iron (P, 9, 8,7 and 6). My swing feels very weird but I am hitting my irons crispy and amazing. I also practice with foot spray on my clubfaces and am hitting the club face in the sweet spot! I am hitting my irons very consistent and even hitting them 5-10 yards more. I use an PRGR portable launch monitor at the driving range to see the distance.
Occasionally I hit a good hybrid, wood off the fairway and drive. I know it is the same swing but a longer club. A lot of my balls hook left or I top the ball. I watched some of Tom Saguto's videos again - The Most Important Wrist Hinge Lesson, Problem #7 - Too much cupped wrist, Problem #8 - Lack of Wrist Hinge, Don't Hinge Your Wrists in the Golf Swing, Backswing 5 (Driver section) Take Driver around enough, and Backswing 6 (Driver section) Shoulder Down. I now know it is an arm fold, not a wrist hinge. I moved the power package golf aid to an old 3 wood, and have been hitting practice balls off grass and off a tee. (Right now I tee off with a 3 wood due to a left shoulder issue). I just need to get much more consistent with my longer clubs. The more I practice, the more fun hitting golf balls is. One of my favorite drills is 2 parts, the takeaway and then arm fold. However, it does get a little frustrating on the golf course with my longer clubs since I don't have the muscle memory yet. Hopefully, it will come soon.
