I was getting into a grove last year with the swing set up. Now this year it is like I forgot everything. I started hitting all my irons thin. NO CRISPY KFC. I do not know what I am doing. Last season I felt the ball off the club all the time. This year I hit and pray. It is frustrating to say the least.

I do this when I look for where the ball is going, before it's gone. I have to try and commit to the shot, let it go and only look for it when it's well on its way. Sometimes if i get excited, I'm looking for it before I've hit it and stand up on it/lean back and a thin is the only outcome.
Thanks everyone........drills started. Too short to play bad golf.
@TheGame2417 - I concur with @rich.massie. We should always default first to checking our setup before considering any kind of swing intervention. We all fall into the trap of getting too comfortable, and we then begin to take our grip, stance, posture, alignment, ball position, etc. for granted, but without proper attention these things do tend to creep on us over time. 90% of the result is already determined before we even take the club back, yet I've seen so many folks make a mess out of an already sound swing because they overlooked or did not consider the foundational elements of the setup.
If everything checks out well in that regard, then any of theses drills can help you crisp up your ball striking and get your swing back on track:
- The Flying Wedge
- 90% Weight Forward/Arms Straight
- Drill 2.8
Beyond these, you can always arrange for a V1 Swing Video Analysis so I can put my eyes on your swing and provide a plan for you to get back to form.
TheGame2017 - maybe you are not keeping your arms straight at impact?
Ball position maybe… for me…. i forget about paying attention to where my ball is sometimes and when im hitting the ball shitty, i find many times the ball has snuck to far forward.
