Putting myself in some excellent positions, 100 yards and under to the pin. Finding on quite a few occasions thou, that I'll catch the ball thin off the bottom of the club, with my wedges. Ball comes of straight but no height and like a bullet. Costing me to many drop shots. Any ideas on how to rectify?

Thank you for the suggestion. What kind of distances can you get using your method?
I have found that my right hand takes over. What I do is to wrap my thumb around to meet my index finger. Using it only as a guide. Weight forward, get as close to the ball as I can (like Ray Floyd) and go straight back, using the toe. It seldom is miss hit. Hands must be quite.
Thank you for the replies, only been a couple of weeks since joining the online course. Still trying to take all the information in.
My consistency and distance already in the last 3 rounds has improved dramatically since using Toms method. Just trying to put it all together.
I personally would review the pitching and chipping videos. Maybe you already have done that but these have helped me immensely for the under 100 yard shots. https://saguto.golf/courses/enrolled/836978
I would check the ball position in your set-up. I was hitting a lot of thin shots with my longer irons and a lot of deep divots with my shorter irons. This was due to the ball position creeping back in my stance.
If you watch the video concerning the "grid", your zero point is your lead shoulder. You need to move your lead foot so it's in line with your lead shoulder and keep that point fixed, only moving the trail foot to adjust stance width according to the club you are using.
I was making the mistake of adjusting both feet and losing my zero point. I was set-up to fail before even swinging the club.
Tough without seeing the swing, but a couple of suggestions. It will be more 'feel vs. real' as to what may work for you.
If you are 100 yds and under, you don't need to swing hard. Good compression will get the ball there. My AW used to be right on 105 yds before S&T. Now with compression it is my 120 club. Suggestion #1: Feel like you are shortening the backswing and focus on good rhythm in your transition. Less moving parts equals better contact. #2, if you are thinning the shot, then try to intentionally hit it fat. Get your contact point to be slightly behind the ball. Sometimes doing the opposite of what is happening can be a fix. Feel vs. real. If this works, then you know you aren't hitting fat, it is just a mental trigger to stay over the ball and cover it. #3, make sure you are maintaining good tilt in the back swing (left shoulder down) and exaggerate the feeling. Sometimes I get a little lazy on those short shots and flatten out my swing and don't get my weight on the left side, which can cause a slight fall back to the right and thin the shot.
You will get it fixed for sure. Good luck.
