I’ve been going through the Saguto course for a few months now and am a huge fan of all the videos. I was wondering how useful or necessary the S&T book is in addition? What does it provide that isn’t covered here? I’ve always been weary about golf swing stuff from reading a book, but if you all find it useful I definitely will read it. Just wanted to hear people’s thoughts. I will do what it takes to get to ball striking bliss.
Thanks!
I just picked up the book and finding it a great resource. I have been a student of the game for a long time and having made the move to S&T over the summer it just made sense to get the book that sort of started it all. It has helped clarify a few things for me already like the tilt aspect of the swing which is explained very well in the book. Plus knowing how and why the swing came about is very interesting stuff and helped make a little more sense of what Tom is teaching - for me anyway. The more information I can get on a subject the better - I am wired that way though so for some it might be overkill. How well all of Tom's videos and related information compliment the book is still yet to be seen, but so far they appear in alignment and I have not seen anything contradictory to Tom's teachings or vice versa.
I just started reading the book, but based on what I have seen and read so far I can recommend it without hesitation.
Cheers,
AE
@Sagar Patel - You should find that the book is an excellent resource for the online school. My suggestion is to do your learning through the school and use appropriate sections of the book as needed to supplement with some additional detail. You'll see that I regularly include excerpts from the book in forum responses.
I read the book, and understood what I read. However I felt I still needed a course layout with the videos. I just started Tom's course a couple of weeks ago and it is helping. Good to have the videos as a reference and the forum to talk and share the journey to KFC shots. Work in progress for me, still parked at 2.8.
I find the book and Tom’s outstanding videos are highly consistent and mutually reinforcing. Together they fill in gaps and provide deeper insights…more “ah-ha” moments. The four videos that were made by the authors as companions to the book provide strong foundation, too. However, those videos may be hard to find and are not nearly as entertaining as Tom’s!
