Played 18 today on a par 63. Played with other people and I was bringing up the rear. hit very few good shots. Don't know why or what I did or didn't do but yet typical of when I would play on a par 72 course. Would have saved the strokes if putting was on but have not practiced that yet. had some nice shots but boy oh boy I was upset I did not hit them better. Still had fun with my wife who is my personal golf cart driver. Playing a small par 3 tomorrow so we will see if I hit them better. I will get this down to a science.

I like the attitude. Are you tracking your misses? Golf is hard. Every shot won’t be perfect. You can learn a lot from your misses.
When playing a course, just play. Go through your preshot routine to ensure your setup is correct for the shot at hand. Pick a target, visualize the ball flight to the target, set up for the intended shot, have just one key preswing thought, then pull the trigger. Then assess the result. Record the quality of contact and outcome. Then, and this is important, FORGET THAT SHOT.
Move on to the next shot and begin the process for that shot. Do not try to correct the last shot on the next shot. Try to execute the next shot correctly depending on the requirements of that shot.
After the round, study your results log and determine your trends. Then on your next range session concentrate on correcting the most prevalent trend. Before you go to the range study Tom’s videos on correcting the trending fault. Then work only on that fault correction. Once you feel like you have fixed it. STOP. Don’t hit any more balls. Leave the range on a high note and go PRACTICE PUTTING.
I believe in your dedication to getting better. Having an improvement process will go a long way towards getting better sooner.
As a side note, the V1 app has a tracking feature that can help with tracking result trends. It can‘t tell you why you are missing the green to the right 90% of the time but it can tell you you are doing that. You will need to track whether your ball is slicing right or just going straight right and practice the appropriate correction. Personally I found it better for me to just keep a log of the contact and result on a separate score card.
Good luck!
