Check out the golf backstop I made from looking at Tom‘s videos. I think it’s exactly the same.
just need to find a net for it. looking around in thrift shops for something suitable, maybe someone knows of an affordable and durable option. I’m even considering a used trampoline net!
Just made the purchase.. I'll post another pic when it's all finished.
By the way, I've heard stories of guys developing bad habits hitting into the net too much, because when you're a beginner you can't tell if you sliced it or not unless you're at the range. I think my approach will be to use the net mainly for the drills, especially before practicing the full swing, and to supplement with a trip to the range every week or 2 to see the flight of the ball.
I'd love to hear your thoughts and thanks for all you do!!
Wow - looks like an exact replica, @joey puvel!! Nicely done!!
FYI, the net we used was purchased through Amazon – “NETTEXX Golf Cage Impact Net 10ft X 10ft” – as were these bungees for attaching the net to the frame – “Kotap BB-6B Ball Bungee Cords with Elastic String for Canopy, Tarp, Straps, Tent, Poles and Wires, 6-Inch (25-Count), Black”. I thought the net was reasonably priced, and it seems to be holding up well since we replaced the old net with this one at the beginning of the year.
Enjoy your new practice facility!
