Went for my usual Sunday morning golf lesson today; I started using the Chapter 1, and 2.8 lessons...
Oh, did I suck...a few good shots, not nearly enough! I remain positive and will review 1-2.9 this afternoon and tomorrow. Will get back to practicing tomorrow afternoon. Good thing I am determined and have a sense of humor at my age now.
You can do it!
Tom, et al, watching lessons, practicing, and noticing the average golf swing, including my previous, have nothing to do with what I need. I have learned so many things - left arm only clearing the chest on the downswing, non-weight shift, downswing initiation....and many more. Point being these things are what my body has always wanted to do; NOT most of what I've been forced to learn (endure). Now I need to learn an entire new system and give it a go. A hacker's work is never done. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all. Cordially, David
Please, let's all bare in mind: 1) it was a CAREER golf shot! 2) I was 25-30 yards BEHIND my PGA registered, certified Professional coach/instructor. 3) I have always been upper body heavy and strong - still am. 4) It was a once in a lifetime, career, lucky swing and stroke. I am still so amazed I remain like a kid at Christmas.
Let's keep in mind the items I numbered above. I won't hold my breath waiting for another drive like that.
Too much usually. LOL. Hence the new Saguto Golf and becoming one of Tom's adherents.
@David Osband 266 yards being hammered by a 66 year old is quite amazing. You still have muscle!
@David Osband 260 yard drive at 66 years old! Wow, NICE!
Well done, @David Osband! 10-12 very good shots and your first mashed drive in over 20 years sounds like a fantastic start to me!
Keep up your great work on the process and the consistency will follow.
Played 9 this morning with my golf coach - mostly to see where weak and strong points are at the moment. Shot horrrribly...BUT...BUT...hit my first driver in over 20 years. Two not so good. BUT...one..and that's all it takes...straight as a string, 260-265 down the middle! Goal for today was five good shots...made 10-12 very good shots.
A long way to go - BUT I am making progress. Hey, Tom, I hit a driver. Oh, and a couple of excellent 3-woods off the tee.
It works when I execute the process as I should. Cheers.
I see Tom's wisdom - hmm...it was not painful to say...
The swing is becoming acceptable to my 66 year-old bod fairly easily.
Going out with my golf coach tomorrow morning; let the laughter begin.
Cheers, and very Happy Holidays to all.
David Osband - I was in the Simplified Golf Section 2.0s for about 3 weeks to “groove” the swing. Overcoming bad habits takes awhile but you can do it!
Yep if we can't laugh at ourselves then we may as well stay home! Keep up the practice and yes I rereview more often just to keep it all fresh in my mind as well!
I have to remember "over thinking leads to stinking" I know we can all do this!
