Well, week 6 upon me and did finish in the money last week. Top 3 positions are paid , Gross & Net .
So, goal of 50% in the money is @ 60% and win % is @ 20% shooting for 30% or 300 avg.
In both match play events also this season.
Senior 50 + no handicap restriction
And Open Division
Moving to Quarter Finals in Senior due to forfeit (bummer, I'd rather play) Entrant didn't know he signed up for it, paid the money and non-refundable but decided to forfeit(don't get that, what's it hurt to play)?
Open Division will play Wednesday along with league play!
Just to let you all know and @Tom Saguto I feel I represent this Academy in my efforts this year as I am not shy about sharing my improvements because of my experiences here. Brings me back to the ancient days of playing on the high school team in Brooklyn, NY!
For perspective, league is broken into 5 divisions.
Championship Division, must be 10 or under handicap and you are in that division throughout the season even if handicap goes above 10
Flights 1 thru 3
Are broken down by handicap from low to high and can move between flights as handicaps change during the season. Even amount of Golfers per Flight (or as close as possible between flights)
46 Golfers per flight
Flight 1 plays from blue tees 6400 yds.
Flight 2 & 3 Whites tees 6000 yds.
I am in flight 2 and if my handicap keeps tumbling I will end up being pushed to flight one as only 4 golfers in front of me before I fall to bottom of flight one and go to longer tees.
I will deal with hat if it happens, hope it does!
Senior Slight Gold tees 5800
Is for 50 & older & 26 plus handicap to be eligible.
And are in that division for duration of season.
We also have weekly skins per division and hole in one pool which is currently @ $2200.00.
So I would suggest if you can to be in a league or competitive play DO IT!
It's FUN and focusing and I enjoy the members we have!
We are competitive but root for each other as we want to beat each other at our best!
Great point, @Steven. Competitive play puts pressure on our swing and our game in general, and that can really help us to improve.
