Was working through some contact issues after initially having good success. I felt like my trail arm was connected but in reality it wasn’t at all. My arms were way to far away from my body for there to even be a connection! So MY feel is that the trail arm is glued to my side all the way to my elbow. I know it really isn’t but that is the feeling I am getting. I am also feeling like I’m squeezing my side with the trail arm. Once I was doing that, crispy contact again!
I do have a question that hopefully someone or Tom can answer. Does the trail arm stay connected after impact into the follow through? I seem to lose the connection in the follow through.
@colton - Great self-discovery and fix!! You're definitely on the path towards taking ownership of your swing!!
With regard to that feel of gluing your entire upper trail arm to the side, you'll get no argument from me on that, and I'm certain that Stack & Tilt co-founder Mike Bennett would agree as well. Check out his connection here.
As for retaining the trail arm connection to the finish, yes - you do want to keep it, but no - not necessarily all the way down to the elbow. Just at the armpit level is sufficient as per this tee drill from the S&T book.
