Tom, I am a left handed golfer and I am naturally left handed. I broke my lead arm (right arm) about 20 years ago and it is about one inch shorter than my trail arm (left arm). I seem to have a problem getting my backswing as far back as it should, as my lead shorter arm won’t seem to let me get there. I do seem to have strange divots that don’ point straight to the target, seem to point dramatically to the right. Any thoughts on adjustments I can make to compensate for this? Thanks for your help.

Thanks, Tom. I’ll get you a V1 video once the snow melts here in Ohio!
@dkott,
I recently responded to a comment thread about swings breaking down when golfers try to reach back for more than the proper body motions allow. I think it applies somewhat to your question as well so I'm pasting my response here:
"Reaching back for more is like conducting a séance for those old swing demons (the "ghosts of swings past"), and they sure come back to haunt us when we do. Remember - the depth we create by getting our hands behind the trail shoulder at the top gives us all the power we need, even if it "looks" like less than a full swing compared to our old Shift & Lift days. Trust me - you've created width and plenty of distance for that club to travel by taking it deep; there's no need to try to get to "parallel"... Execute the motions, understand your body's natural stopping point, and then - the most difficult part - train yourself to stop there!"
So if, despite your limitation, you are still able to take your hands in deep, then even if it only feels like a three-quarter swing, it should still be all that you need to enjoy ball striking consistency and produce plenty of distance.
Beyond that, please give some thought to the V1 Swing Video Analysis - an effective and inexpensive service that I highly recommend to everyone in the school. I liken it to bringing your swing into the shop for a tune-up or minor repair. Scheduling one on a quarterly basis for preventive maintenance will do wonders for keeping things humming along nicely, and it's also a great tool for pinpointing and resolving any issues that arise. The process involves downloading the free V1 app and then submitting two videos to me through the app - one down-the-line (captured from your stance line, not the target line) and the other face-on. Perhaps in reviewing your swing I might be able to offer more specific advice to help you appropriately compensate for the shorter lead arm.
