I am looking to install new grips and according to several measurement technics I am right between standard and midsize. Do you recommend moving up to midsize or stay with the standard? Thanks in advance for your help.
@jenisedog - I wish there was a simple answer to your question. At the end of the day you’re goal is to make sure the club is secure in your hands.
FYI… Not all grips are made equal meaning different brands will be different sizes. So standard really isn‘t standard.
My suggestion is find what brand and model grip you like. If you like your current brand then go up to a midsize if you have been playing standards. Otherwise I figured you wouldn’t be asking the question to begin with.
No measurement whether it be hand length, finger length, glove size, or finger palm gap can replace how the grip feels to you. If you don’t like the feel, you’ll always have that in the back of your mind when you’re hitting poor quality shots.
@jenisedog - Is it possible for you to try before you buy and see what feels/performs best for you?
If not, my next questions would be:
1) Do you tend to flip the club through impact?
2) Do you ever sense that your grip is not secure at any point during the swing?
If you answered yes to one or both of these, then I would lean towards the midsized grips.
