Hello, as long as I do the half swings I can really compress the ball and hit it very straight. My question as soon as I try and hit it with a more normal swing I get no compression and start to lose accuracy. Is this normal or is there something I should be doing differently. Thank you.

For me, I have to watch my weight distribution on full swings because my brain is very well trained (old swing) to shift my weight to the right despite starting 60/40. For me, I have to feel VERY tilted towards the target at the top to ensure I haven't moved to my right side on the way back. The worst-case scenario for me is to nearly straighten the right leg at address. Alternately, and I believe Tom covered this in one of the Hogan videos, I make sure my butt moves left, or towards the target on the backswing. That keeps my weight on my left side without thinking.
