My game used to be to hit the ball, walk 5 feet, and hit it again. I am now walking 10 feet and hitting it again. just kidding. if anything after watching Tom I stop after each garbage hit and think about it. watch other golfers and just reflect on my goal. Just funny that sometimes I hit it like a pro and then all of a sudden I go skunk. Will keep on trucking.

This is and will continue to be an expected part of the process, Tom. As confidence in your swing grows through time and proper practice, you should find more and more that you are playing "golf" instead of "golf swing" on the course, at which point your mechanical thoughts will be reduced to one or two at the most, and you will be nearly entirely focused on your target and not your swing. An excellent book that may help you with this is "Fearless Golf: Conquering the Mental Game" by Dr. Gio Valiante. Another book that I like is "Play Your Best Golf Now" by Lynn Marriott & Pia Nilsson.
Yes - keep on trucking!
