I get such enjoyment from this game.
I hit balls today and I was horrible until I found a little temp at the top. Doing everything I can to get that shoulder down and it seems it's at the top of the swing. 50 balls in and it was horrible. then I took it back a little slower and was smacking the heck out of the ball but even with that, it became hit-and-miss. Big behind-the-ball chunks that would normally bring out the landscape police, a lot of tops, and a few whiffs, and sometimes when I hit the ball it went nowhere with some crazy knuckleball spin and movement. it was wild. Still trying to do the same thing all the time and obviously, I am not. But I know I can so I am more than 1/2 way in my mind.
I played a par 3 today. But they teamed me up with a 3some that wanted to play best ball. I only hit 2 greens in reg but had 3 very nice chips that I was able to take down. It was fun. And I was a little stinko but I had a blast. 2 old ladies. One asked me if I was married because she was a widow. She had to be 77 maybe. nice to know I still got what the old ladies want😁
Question On par 3 they have 3 different hitting spots. We hit from the middle. Should I play these par 3's from the longest tee and does it affect the handicap?
@Tom Holt - There should be a rating and slope for each set of tees on the scorecard. These are factored into the handicap calculation, so it shouldn't matter which set of tees you play.
If your shoulders are leveling out, make sure you're not taking it back too far in the backswing - i.e.: beyond your body's natural stopping point - as that can pull us out of our relationship with the ball. The 2.8 Drill can certainly help you with this if executed properly.
