Is this the position that we should be striving for at impact? basically being able to see lead butt cheek. Ive filmed myself down the line and I am nowhere near this position. Maybe that shows my lack of rotation?
Hi @jon - The majority of amateur golfers tend to experience the opposite issue - i.e.: too much rotation and insufficient (if any) lateral hip slide. Since you mentioned him, have a look at this YT channel video featuring Mr. Hogan and notice how beautifully he melds the lateral and rotational motions in the downswing. Also, this downswing lesson from the Simplest Golf Swing Ever class in the school provides much detail on how the hips "move forward and get out of the way".
If you continue to be challenged by this a V1 Swing Video Analysis may be the best solution for you.
