I’ve been playing good this year. It’s my first year with Tom but my consistency has jumped up from round to round. Lately I have struggled heavily with the driver. It’s probably more mental than anything but I digress
this weekend I played with a friend and couldnt Get off the tee. I shot a front 9 54. I was frustrated. Somewhere around hole 7 or 8 I just heard Tom say have a relationship with the golf ball. I dictate the relationship not the ball. I had been setting up to the ball instead of setting up and approaching the ball. Man this made a world of difference. I turned in a 42 on the back and couldn’t have been happier. I also switched from driver to 3 wood and was consistently out driving my playing partner.
don’t
tom puts these at the start of the class for a reason! I changed nothing else about my swing but posted my best 9 of the year. I was also able to limit myself to one swing thought which helped great.
i know the community is growing daily so to all the new guys and gals trust the system and trust Tom and these veterans of the community. I’ve never shot in the lows 80 before but I believe this year it will happen! Heck maybe I can even hang a 79. Thanks Tom you have made golf so much more fun
@Cody McDowell I too have been struggling with the longer clubs, especially the driver and the fault also lay at my setup with my ball position. Like Tom says, the setup is 95% of the golf swing. So important to get it right otherwise we're doomed even before taking the club back!
Fabulous stuff, @Cody McDowell!! Pretty soon you won't need my voice in your head like Happy Gilmore needed Chubbs. You'll just be doing it on autopilot.
Thanks for your kind words and keep up the great work; I look forward to celebrating that 79 soon!!!
